Most computer users tend to forget that the mouse has other uses beyond basic commands or selection purposes. They are possibly unaware of the cool and hidden tricks of using the mouse which can simplify your life in no time.

- Holding Shift-All files and folders are equipped with a right-click context menu which allows us to perform certain action on the files/folders. But did you know that there are some hidden options? If you press the Shift Key while selecting right-click you will get access to an extended menu with those hidden options.
- Zoom in and Zoom Out- All applications such as image viewers, document editors, browsers, and explorer allow you to zoom in and zoom out. Most of them have keyboard shortcuts or a dedicated tool to support that, but just in case they don’t you can create your own. You can use the mouse scroll to for all zooming activities along with the Ctrl key kept pressed. Isn’t that cool?
- Holding CTRL- Selecting multiple pieces of text becomes a breeze if you keep the CTRL key pressed. Simplifies editing, copying, and pasting for your documents.
- Selecting Text- We can select continuous files and folders by holding the Shift key and clicking on the first and then the last file/folder. You can also use this trick to select text on documents like MS Word or any other text editor. You should click on the first character, then press the shift, point to the last character, click there, and release the Shift key.
- Open a New Tab- Most people prefer their links to open in a new tab rather than a window. They usually right-click on the link and select their preferred alternative. If you select Open in New Tab you can get the same result by holding the Ctrl key and clicking on the link instead.
- Closing Tabs- If your left side of the mouse won’t work or gets stuck then press the mouse scroll by pointing in the middle of a tab to close the browser tab.
- Activate Mouse Clicklock– If your mouse suffers from drag or your work involves selecting a lot of text or moving around files, activating mouse click-lock simplifies things for you. You can turn it on in properties.
